Earth Day 2026 - Low Carbon Living Carnival
Co-organised by CEDARS-GE and Sustainability Unit of Estates Office, "Earth Day 2026 - Low Carbon Living Carnival" will be held on 22 April to celebrate the Earth Day this year!
Aligning with the Earth Day’s theme, Our Power, Our Planet, our Carnival will feature a range of booths that combine education and fun to showcase various low carbon choices in Clothing, Food and Living. HKU members are invited to participate and learn how to contribute your power to reduce carbon footprints for our planet.
Earth Day 2025
The theme of Earth Day 2025 is "Our Power, Our Planet", aiming to increase the use of renewable energy through the unity of everyone. By working together, we can build a healthy and sustainable future.
This year marks the 55th anniversary of Earth Day and the 7th anniversary of the HKU Herb Garden. Established in 2018, the HKU Herb Garden, is a serene spot on campus, dedicated to promoting urban organic farming and wellness to every HKUer. Explore a variety of herbs, engage with nature, and experience the serenity of this special space by joining our events.
Come and join us to celebrate Earth Day and the anniversary of the HKU Herb Garden on 22 Apr 2025 (Tue). There will be a series of activities exploring the sustainability and green living style, including:
Earth Day 2024- Sustain / Ability
Themed with "Planet vs. Plastics" for Earth Day 2024, it stresses the urgency of the detrimental effects of plastic caused to our planet, climate, and human health and raises public awareness and inspires action towards reducing our reliance on plastics.
This year marks the 54th anniversary of Earth Day and the 6th anniversary of the HKU Herb Garden. The theme of "Sustain/Ability" emphasises our belief in the self-healing power of nature and the role individuals can play in creating a better environment through sustainable and green lifestyles. Living a green life is not as difficult and complicated as we think. If you want to learn more, come and join the HKU Earth Day 2024 held on April 22, 2024 (Mon).
Earth Day 2023 - Moving On to a Greener Future!
We are finally moving on from the pandemic with f2f learning being almost fully resumed. This year marks the 53rd anniversary of the annual Earth Day as well as the 5th anniversary of our HKU Herb Garden. To maximise the positive impacts of our Holistic Urban Farming projects, we are joining hands with the Caritas Mok Cheung Sui Kun Community Centre (Kennedy Town) to share the joy of green living to our community neighbours.
The theme of Earth Day 2023, “Invest in Our Planet”, reminds people to take actions and put more efforts on combating climate change. We need to chase behind our own footprints to reduce pollutions and environmental damages. In 2023, let’s cooperate together and create the best blessing to the Mother Nature.
To celebrate Earth Day and HKU Herb Garden anniversary, a series of activities about urban gardening, food choices, upcycling and art creation were organised on Apr 21 & 22.
