Appearance 外觀

葉片邊緣帶齒狀,多為紫色或綠色。花小具梗,花色有白、紫及粉色。棕褐色小堅果為球形

It has broad ovate leaves with pointy ends and serrated margins, arranged oppositely with long leafstalks. Leaves are usually purple or green in colour.

Growing Condition 生長條件

紫蘇喜溫暖,較耐熱,適應性很強,對土壤要求不嚴,有充足光照更佳

Shiso is perennial and may be cultivated as an annual in temperate climates.

Uses 用途

紫蘇葉風味獨特,可用於沖茶及調味,亦可製成紫蘇種子油或紫蘇種子粉調味。

The leaves have a unique flavor and can be used for making tea and flavoring, and can also be made into seed oil or powder for flavoring.

Health Benefits 營養價值

可用於進食魚蟹等寒涼之物引起的吐瀉、腹痛。亦有和胃止嘔的作用,但亦含大量草酸,不宜過量食用。

It can be used to treat vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal pain caused by eating fish and crabs. It also has the effect of stomach relieving, but it contains a lot of oxalic acid, so it should not be consumed in excess.
